Bungay Community Centre

This is the website for Bungay Community Centre which was officially opened in July 2021, replacing the Honeypot Community Centre.   The new Community Centre is situated on Old Grammar Lane, Bungay, between the medical centre and the fire station, adjacent to the playing field and skate park.

The purpose of this web site is to publicise the facilities available to all who would wish to hire our modern, purpose built centre for activities and events, whether they are to be held regularly or are one-off dates.  It is also to provide information about what is happening at the Community Centre. 

Building of the new Community Centre began in late 2019 after many years of fund raising, investigations, different plans being drawn up and, seemingly, endless set backs.  Even the recent COVID-19 pandemic has played its part in delaying the completion of the building, for a short while.

The previous Honeypot community centre was based on what was effectively a "prefab" dating back to the late war years, which had been modified and added to in the intervening years. Despite the building's age and origins it provided sterling service to Bungay and the neighbouring communities for many years.
