Bungay Community Centre is managed by a group of volunteers who, as directors of the charity of the same name, are supported by cleaning and caretaking services.
Originally named Bungay Honeypot Centre Limited (BHCL) it was created in 2004 as a company, limited by guarantee, (no. 5015149) and registered charity (no. 1108051) to look after the original community centre, it was changed to Bungay Community Centre (BCC) when the new building became operational.
The company directors (trustees) are volunteers from the local area who all have varied experience in the public sector or in the commercial world. Between them they have expertise in marketing, management, building, planning and administration which they have put to good use both for the Centre, the Town Council, the Town Trust and other voluntary, community and business organisations in Bungay.
BCC has to abide by the Charity Commission regulations for its management and financial reporting. Further details can be found on the Charity Commission website.
BCC’s mission is to “provide an exciting centre for the community that meets both the present and future needs of everyone in Bungay and its surrounding area”.
